June 15th began the third and last week of the Specialization Course Archiviare il Novecento, organized by the CSAC Centro Studi e Archivio della Comunicazione dell’Università degli studi di Parma. This course has seen the participation of twenty-nine students in architecture, design and visual arts from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, Quito, after an agreement with the University of Parma.
The 60 hours course has been designed with three modules focusing on the themes of the archive, its management, conservation and development, with in-depths analysis dedicated to the disciplines that make up the CSAC collection: visual arts, photography, graphic design, fashion design, architecture, performing arts and drama.
In particular, the first session of lectures addressed the visual arts and the Italian design through the materials from the CSAC archives, while the latter has studied the Italian performing arts and the project, leaving the third session of lessons dedidcated to how to build and manage a collection.
During these three weeks the students were also allowed to explore with the curators the ideas behind the exhibition which recently opened in the CSAC museum and specificities of each category of the archive. They have visited the city of Parma, they have been introduced to its museum and theatrical system, they visited the Venice Biennale and the Expo in Milan, always accompanied by the teachers from the LASS, ALEPH and DiCatea departments, by the curators of the CSAC and by PhD Art History students.
